Tinian

Gamblers and beach hounds alike will find paradise on Tinian. A major casino shares the island with warm white sand and a richly preserved history.

The past lives on here in the island's Taga Stones, deep grey monoliths visually evocative of a Stonehenge flanked by palm trees. History also survives in the form of abandoned Shinto shrines and the runway where the Enola Gay B-29 bomber took off bearing the atomic bomb that would be dropped on Hiroshima.

In the 10 minutes it takes your flight to arrive from Saipan, you will find yourself in another of Micronesia's snorkeling, fishing, and diving hubs. Tinian is both a classic Oceania beauty and a unique paradise all its own.
